Lee, 31

I found out about Giroscope when I was still in prison from a friend who visited. I am determined to change and have a better outlook on life and thought I would give it a go.

I have done some painting and decorating previously so I started with that. Over my first few weeks I had the opportunity to try a few different tasks. I have recently started to do a bit more plastering, which was something new to me but I really enjoy it. I have enrolled at Hull College on a diploma course in plastering so I will be there for two days a week and working with Giroscope for two days a week. I will then be learning on the job to improve my skills and also gaining qualifications at the same time.

I now feel a lot more secure in my future prospects and my outlook has really improved. I am working toward improving my job prospects, gaining experience and qualifications.

Giroscope's Housing Pledge

  • So long as the conditions of the tenancy are met, you have the right to remain in your home for as long as you wish.
  • Giroscope will not sell your house, or transfer ownership to another landlord so long as you are a tenant of that house.
  • Giroscope will not borrow money against its property in a way that endangers the financial stability of the organisation and puts your home at risk.
