Andy, 37 - Volunteer/Tenant

I have volunteered for Giroscope for over two and a half years. Before this, I found myself working for various Government training courses and not making very much progress. Over the past two years I have been given real opportunities to access work related training such as first aid and health and safety and currently working through my CSCS card and improving my CV.

I have worked alongside professionals in most construction fields and gained a great deal of experience and developed my skills in most areas. I enjoy working in all aspects of house renovation especially when I am able to work through the whole renovation process from the void property we start with through to the high quality finish when the new tenants move in.

I feel proud to be a part of the organisation and to know that we are making significant changes to people’s lives and improving the community where we live.

Giroscope's Housing Pledge

  • So long as the conditions of the tenancy are met, you have the right to remain in your home for as long as you wish.
  • Giroscope will not sell your house, or transfer ownership to another landlord so long as you are a tenant of that house.
  • Giroscope will not borrow money against its property in a way that endangers the financial stability of the organisation and puts your home at risk.
